Wee Mistletoe Fairy

Please scroll down to previous post for the candy winner announcement.

Another blue Christmas card today, this one using Mistletoe Fairy from the  Whimsy Stamps release.  I also used the Big Balloon Celebrations sentiments and matching Big Balloon Celebrations die set.  Although this is a Christmas stamp, I think it could be used all the year round by just changing up the colour of the berries.

Coloured with copics, I used
Hair: E44, 42, 40, W00
Skin: E13, 11, 00, 000, R20
Wings: E40, W00
Dress: B97, 95, 93, 91; E42, 40, W00

The inside is  finished off to match the front.

Penguin with Present

My grandson loves penguins, LOVES them – as in totally crazy for them and even sponsors a penguin.  So whenever I stumble upon a penguin stamp I have to have it (as you do).  This little sweetie Christmas Penguin from the newest Whimsy Stamps release is just too stinking cute.

How fab is the Joy sentiment?  I used the Brush Script Lower Case Alpha die set that was also released by Whimsy Stamps this month.

This was a doddle to colour, it really was.  I used copic markers (colours used in the order they are listed):
Penguin: C1, 0, 00; C9, 7, 5; YR24, 21, 30
Hat: C3, 10, 0, 00; BG49, 57, 45
Present: BG49, 57, 45; YG67, 63, G20

The papers are from a really old Basic Grey pad, I’ve had it for years.  The snowflake doily die is a Marianne Design die.

Holly Mice

It’s gone Christmas card crazy in my house.  So many fabulous Christmas stamps and digis out this past couple of months I have great difficulty in choosing which ones to use first.  This sweet little digi stamp by Di’s Digi Stamps called Holly Mice was begging to be coloured.  These little mice have a serious awww factor ♥

Coloured with copic markers and a black pencil
Mice: W3, 1, 0, 00
Jumpers: YG67, 63, G20, E42, 41, 40; R59, 46, 14
Berries: RV99, R59, 46, 14
Holly Leaves: BG99, G29, 24, 21, 20

The papers are a mix of Bo Bunny and K&Co that I’ve had for yonks.

The sentiment is by Crafters Companion, the large poinsettia was in the sale bin at The Range after Christmas last year.  Needless to say I bought a basket full …. as you do.  I think the picks were reduced to something silly like 50p each.  I love me a bargain Smile

Wee Candle Light

It’s the last day of the September Whimsy Stamps release, so don’t forget to pop across to join in the fun over in the Whimsy Stamps and Inspirations Facebook group and hopefully win a prize.

Wee Candle Light takes the stage today, together with the gorgeous new Christmas Cheer Designer Paper Pad, matching Christmas Cheer Enamel Dots, Build a Poinsettia die set , Snowflake dies …. all released this week.

I coloured up the little snowman with copic markers and just a light touch of black pencil:
Snowman: W3, 1, 0, 00
Waistcoat & leaves: YG97, 95, 93, G20
Hat and Scarf: R59; 56, E04; E43, 41, 40
Birds: E15, 13, 00
Candle,  berries and bell : C3, 10, 0, 00;; YR24, 21, Y11

I made the poinsettia flowers using the new Build a Poinsettia die set and paper from the Christmas Cheer pad, then went crazy with the white glitter to give a frosty look to the card.

I really love this new release, I had great difficulty in deciding which goodies to use first.  That’s a total win for me Open-mouthed smile

Bauble shaped card

It’s day 2 of the September Whimsy Stamps release, with the party over in the Whimsy Stamps and Inspirations Facebook group still going strong.

I decided to make a bauble shaped card for a change, I’ve not attempted one before this so it was a make it up as I went along kind of card.

The bottom layer is from the It’s a Party designer paper pad, the top layer is stamped using the new Winter Afghan background stamp and Soft Sky ink pad.

I made the poinsettias using the fabulous new Build a Poisettia die set, and popped some glittered snowflakes from the new Snowflake dies

I really loved making this card and need to get more done for Christmas.  My friend has already claimed this one to change up into an ornament for her tree Open-mouthed smile

Joyous Holiday

Today sees the start of the Whimsy September 2016 Release Party over in our Whimsy Stamps and Inspirations Facebook group. The Whimsy DT will be sharing sneak peeks at the new products releasing today, so pop across and join us for games, fun, and a chance to win Whimsy prizes.
To join our release party event, just pop over to the Whimsy group any time until Friday, September 16th.

I’ve used the Joyous Holiday set for my card today.  I’ve added a layer to the card by using the  Double Scallop Doily Die – Circle.

I stamped and heat embossed the poinsettia three times on to vellum, coloured the back with copic markers and layered up with foam pads to give a bit of dimension.  I love how the poinsettia turned out …. and it’s pink! Open-mouthed smile

Because the First Edition Christmas Promise paper is on the busy side I kept the embellishments to a minimum so the flower could be the star of the show.

Back tomorrow with another card featuring the new release.

Candy Winner

This weeks candy winner is

Rene Stansell (Rene from Oz)

Congratulations Rene, please email me with your address.

Christmas Wreath

I’m going through a blue phase, no pink in sight!  And it’s all down to the Pion Design North Pole papers.  Because the wreath die is large I didn’t want to detract from it with lots of layers, so kept the layout simple and added some embossing for texture and detail

The Scrapiniec bauble chippy is double layered, so I added a smoky blue wax to the bottom layer and gesso to the top layer before adhering together.  This was topped off with a few pearls, a pearl/rhinestone button and some crinkled organza ribbon.

I die cut the wreath twice from white card and then cut lots of individual leaves from glitter card in silver and smoky blue.  I used the glitter leaves  and pearls for added dimension

I really love how this card turned out, simple and elegant and not too much going on which is a change for me Open-mouthed smile

Special Friend

I bought the set of Anna Marie Designs Blissful paper pads from Create & Craft weeks ago, and they’ve been sat there since.  Why I’m still buying stash I have no idea, my craft room is busrting at the seams!  But I really couldn’t resist this set, the designs and colours are sublime and perfect for shabby chic cards.  I {{{heart}}} these pads so much.

Whimsy Stamps have some amazing sentiment stamp sets, they really do and I fell in love with the bold font of the Painted Sayings set.  Love that the sentiments are all mix and match too.   I popped the sentiment behind a chipboard frame to make it the focal point.

The large oval doily die is by Crafters Companion

Back in a couple of days with some more candy Smile

Penguin with present and candy winner

Christmas cards are my favourite cards to make, I can go crazy with glitter and embellishments and we all know how much I love those!

I coloured the cute little penguin with copic markers:
Penguin C9, 7, 5; C1, 0, 00; YR24, 21, 31
Hat & Scark: B95, 93, 91
Present: C1, 0, 00, B93; E44, 42, 40

The colour scheme is simple, I stuck to the colours in the Pion North Pole papers that I’ve used and just built on that with the embellishments and layers.

I finished off the inside to match the front.

And now for the candy winner - that's you

Please EMAIL ME with your addresses so I can post your prizes off to you.

Flowers and Lace challenge at Noor Design

It’s a brand new month so a brand new challenge at Noor Design, and this month we’re doing Flowers and Lace …. perfect.
I’m always in a rush to get Christmas cards made quickly so having images already coloured and ready to go makes life so much easier.  So, I paired the Pion North Pole papers with an image from their Images from the Past sheet and job done.

I realised I didn’t “quite” follow the lace part … but ruffle trim is pretty darn close – yes?  I’m going with that Open-mouthed smile

I made the poinsettias using my favourite Christmas die – Christmas Set with Deer.  I unearthed an odd looking punch the other day which works perfect for the flower centre underneath the pearl.  I coloured the cosmos flowers with some Lindys sprays to match the picture, else the card would have looked a bit odd with the only red being in his hat lol.

Love the depth and dimension this ruffle trim gives, it’s gorgeous!
